Q: I am outgoing and vivacious in general, but I can't seem to relax and let go in the bedroom.  What can I do?
A: Start by thinking back to the messages you received about sex when you were growing up.  Many people who struggle with “letting it go” in the bedroom have something in their history that makes them feel that sex is dirty, shameful or wrong.  Being raised in a rigid religious environment is a common source of creating inhibitions.  Trauma and abuse are also a leading cause.  There are many behavioral tactics you can try like erotic novels, sexual movies, sex toys, etc.  However until you deal with the underlying cause you may be putting a Band-Aid on the situation.  To find a certified sex therapist in your area, go to www.aasect.org

It's tried but true. Candles, music and chocolate always add a certain ambience and flavor and can easily turn up the heat on a sexy encounter.
